The Secret Path

The Secret Path is an album created by the late Canadian Singer, Gord Downie. The album tells the story of Chanie Wenjack, an indigenous boy who was taken to Cecilia Jeffery Indian Residential School, and sadly died from hunger and exposure to the elements after he attempted to run away.

Thesis

Chanie Wenjack's story was turned into an album known as "The Secret Path." Along with the Mr. Downie's album, Chanie's story is depicted in multiple different mediums, each with their individual depictions about the message. The article, the website, and the novella each in their own specific and individual ways all aid in re-shaping the main message, both explicitly and implicitly, of this sorrowful story.
